Primary Responsibilities

• Cover stories across tech, business, and finance in the startup ecosystem.

• Analyse data using sources such as DataLabs, MCA reports, RTIs, and secondary research.

• Pitch newsworthy ideas to editors and build strong industry networks.

• Enrich stories with data-driven value additions — infographics, analysis, or multimedia (audio, video, interviews).

• Deliver exclusive stories that set the agenda.

• Strengthen market presence by attending events and developing insider sources.

• Build a strong professional presence on social media.
  
  

Annual KRA

• Consistently publish data-backed stories with sharp insights.

• Drive exclusivity and originality in reporting.

• Add depth through innovative formats (charts, graphics, multimedia).

• Establish Inc42’s authority by cultivating high-value sources and event presence.
  
  

Professional Traits

• 3–5 years of experience in core journalism.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or an equivalent field.
• Strong fundamentals in reporting — nutgraf, lede, background, fact-checking.
• Ability to structure news and features quickly and effectively.
• Solid understanding of India’s startup and policy landscape to identify and pitch relevant stories.
• Excellent command of written English with clarity and impact.
